Products - VIDAS® Clostridium difficile A & B

<< Back

Spread through resilient spores which survive for months in the environment, C. difficile is the most common cause of antibiotic-associated diarrhoea in hospitals in developed countries.

Previously C. difficile was considered to be no more than a clinical nuisance, but strains have evolved making this bacterium a major concern in healthcare facilities.
Now, it is also threatening out-patients, since in the US and Canada hyper-virulent strains are spreading out of the hospital environment into the community.
